One of the outcomes of this strategy was identifying where we should participate within social networks. Facebook was one of the opportunities we identified as a key environment that we could build a community and engage with consumers.  It is very satisfying to see all the hard work being internationally rewarded and is a testament to the skills and commitment of the Tourism Queensland and XCOM Media teams.  Social Media has grown to become an integrated and key digital channel for Tourism Queensland and we see it as an essential component to our marketing efforts.“

Sato Howard, Account Director with XCOM Medi a said “It has been great to work with the Mater Foundation on their first viral campaign, it has certainly raised the bar for the next one. The enthusiasm they have showed in embracing the digital environment has been exceptional and this enthusiasm has translated to success.    Tourism Queensland are no strangers to the online environment and have a progressive and skillful marketing team. To get an award for social media amongst the other successes is a credit to how well rounded they are in the digital space.”
